The police disclosed the details of the robbery in Uzhgorod, during which, they say, a foreign currency speculator was robbed of one million hryvnia and nearly lost his ear. Law enforcement officers are looking for witnesses to the crime.
Today, June 19, in the morning, the police received from an Uzhgorod resident a report of a robbery. The applicant told the police that two unknown men had attacked him in the yard of a house on Mozhaisky street in the regional center of Transcarpathia. The man was stabbed in the ear. According to the victim, the unknown men took from him a large sum of money.
The police determined that the likely suspects in the offense were riding in a gray "Opel Frontera". Plan "Interception" has been initiated in the region.
The police have opened a criminal proceeding under Part 4 of Art. 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is robbery. Such an offense is punishable by imprisonment for a term of eight to fifteen years with confiscation of property.
The police ask anyone, who has any information that may be useful in the search for the attackers, to call "102", the communication department of Transcarpathian regional police informed.
