“Let’s do it!” – “Let’s make Ukraine clean!”

February 14, 2014, at 12:00, in the Small Hall of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, there will be a workshop on the preparation and organization of the international nationwide public initiative "Let’s make Ukraine clean" in Transcarpathian region. Everyone is invited to participate!

The purpose of the meeting is the organization of the nationwide public social and environmental initiative "Let’s make Ukraine clean!" to be held April 12, 2014, in the framework of the International worldwide movement "Let ‘s do it, world". This event brings together more than 8.5 million people in 108 countries, who annually, on the specified day, gather to clean out their countries. Thus, the initiative promotes the formation of citizens’ responsible attitude to the environment by involving local communities in cleaning up their towns and villages. Every year the number of participants increases, last year more than 140,000 volunteers joined the initiative, in 2014 they plan to involve 250,000 activists in 1,000 settlements.

During the workshop, there will be the presentation of the initiative "Let’s make Ukraine clean – 2014", the discussion of the plan and features of the event in 2014, co-operation of the event with accompanying measures, the determination of an effective mechanism for engaging all districts of the region. Ways to facilitate garbage collection, attracting volunteers, resource provision and information support, ways of cooperation and effective collaboration between the state, commercial and public sector. The main speaker is Lilia Tkachenko, the national coordinator to work with volunteers.
