Latest information on the flood in Transcarpathian region as of 17:00

During the last 24 hours, the total rate of precipitation has amounted to 120 mm. Since the beginning of the flood, it has amounted to 160 mm, exceeding two monthly norms. As a result of the precipitation, water levels in the rivers of Transcarpathia continue to rise:

 – In the mountainous part of the Tisa river, in the upper and middle tributaries of the Tisa river – by 1-2 m;

– In the Uzh river – by 2.6 m;

– In the Borzhava river, the village of Dovhe – by 1.8 m;

– In the Rika river, the town of Mizhhirya – by 2.0 m;

– In the Latorica river, the city of Mukachevo – by 1.8 m.

Due to waterlogged soil and intense rainfall, a landslide occurred in Rakhiv, Volovets and Velyky Berezny districts in total volume of 250 cubic meters.

As a result of the landslide, there is a threat of the destruction of a residential house and street facilities in the village of Tyshiv, Volovets district. The commission on technological-ecological safety and emergency situations of the Volovets District State Administration is working at the scene. Units of the State Emergencies Service were not engaged.

As of 17:00 07.11.2016, 15 households, 40 hectares of farmland remain flooded, one reinforced concrete bridge is damaged, two wooden crossings are destroyed.

In the city of Uzhgorod, 6 basements of residential buildings and 5 yards are flooded (the work to pump out the water continues), the regional unit of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine informs.
