Uzhgorod Interdistrict Prosecutor’s Office, defending the interests of the state represented by Uzhgorod District State Administration, appealed to the Commercial Court of Transcarpathian region with a claim to terminate the contract for lease of land and to return 4.5330 hectares of land worth nearly 2 mln. hryvnias to reserve lands of Kholmok village council.
According to Uzhgorod interdistrict prosecutor Oleksandr Andryshyn, in early 2012, a private company and Uzhgorod DSA signed the land lease agreement for 49 years. The company undertook to pay a monthly rental fee of 5% of the normative monetary value of land.
However, according to information of Uzhgorod State Tax Inspectorate, because of the company’s systematic failure to perform its obligations, as of November 7th, the local budget lost nearly 50,000 UAH.
Therefore, since the defendant’s failure to pay the rental fee causes substantial shortfall in the local budget that is harmful to social and economic development of the settlement, the prosecutors demand in the court to terminate the contract and to return the land to the village community.
