Khust priests prepared 400 food packages for socially vulnerable people (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

On April 2, priests of the Khust Deanery of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese purchased and stocked 400 food packages for retirees, large families and people with disabilities.
All public worship services in the temples have been cancelled in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, from the first days of the pandemic, priests from the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese began broadcasting church services online and called on people to stay at home, as the state and church authorities had called for it.
Given the rapid rise in food prices, it has become clear that retirees, large families and children with disabilities will find themselves in very difficult circumstances. That is why the priests of the Khust Deanery came up with the idea to come together and organize a solidarity canpaign in order to provide food and moral support for the parishioners.

“The idea came about after the first week of quarantine, when we saw a rapid rise in prices for food. After the discussion, it was decided that half of the finances would be allocated from our 12 parishes of the Khust Deanery and the other half from the Catholics of Germany via a former member of our deanery Father Mykhailo Fetko”, – Fr. Mykhailo Fedkovich from Lipetska Polyana said.
