More than 600 athletes from all over our country, as well as Moldova, Romania, the Czech Republic, Azerbaijan and Belgium are taking part in the competitions.
Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv greeted the participants, coaches, fans and judges at the grand opening of the Championship.
After the speeches, greetings at the celebrations, the fights for awards in weight categories 46, 50, 55, 60, 66, 73, 81, 90, +90 kg among men; and 40, 44, 48, 52, 57, 63, 70, +70 kg among women began.
Judo is based on the principles of Japanese martial arts and is considered not just a sport, but a system of education that teaches perseverance, willpower, respect for others. October 28 is World Judo Day.
