Italian shoes, bags and pots did not get to Ukraine

A citizen of Ukraine was going from Italy to Ukraine and decided to cross the border at the customs post "Tisa" of the Chop customs. He drove to a customs post by a cargo van "Mercedes-Benz" with license plates of Portugal through the "red corridor" lane.

Experts of the customs office asked him to fill out a customs declaration in which he indicated his passport information, information about the vehicle, and declared that he had a luggage with personal items.  

During the oral questioning, the citizen of Ukraine confirmed the information indicated in the customs declaration and denied the presence of any other goods, including those subject to a written declaration and taxation.

In the course of customs control, experts of the customs, in addition to the declared personal items, found the goods that were not indicated in the customs declaration and not declared during oral questioning: three foreign ladies handbags; 24 pairs of women’s shoes and 2 pairs of men’s shoes of various foreign brands; 1 set of foreign kitchen utensils of stainless steel; 2 sets of bed-clothes of different foreign brands and colors; 1 set of foreign towels of cotton terry fabrics, for a total amount exceeding EUR 500. The goods were placed in two cardboard boxes that were located in the cargo compartment of the van, on the floor.

The citizen explained that he was transporting the goods at the request of a stranger.

Thus, the citizen of Ukraine did not provide accurate and reliable information about the goods that he was transporting across the customs border of Ukraine and that was subject to a written declaration and taxation, which falls under the signs of violation of customs regulations provided for in Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, according to the report, the goods that are direct objects of violation of customs regulations were seized.
