It’s not the first time hail “hits” Transcarpathia

In Transcarpathian region, hail damaged thousands of rooftops, cars, caused enormous damage to farmlands.

Yaroslav Marian shares on his page a very interesting information.

"I have found in the archive the newspaper "Napi hirek" for July 2, 1929, which issued the following report.
"Uzhgorod, June 30, the Czech News Agency. In the Ruthenian land on Saturday, there was a very heavy storm, sometimes with ice rain (hail). In Serednye, vineyards were destroyed. In the village, roofs on most houses were swept away by the storm. One building under construction crumbled. Near Verbovets, three military hangars collapsed, three aircrafts were damaged. In and around Sevliush, the hurricane did much damage. In the village of Vlahovo (Vilkhivka), the storm swept away the roof of the church. In Sevliushehreshi (Oleshnyk), crops were destroyed, one person was seriously injuried, many others suffered minor injuries. The damage is extremely severe."

I do not want to compare the damage, but I want to believe that if our ancestors survived this disaster 85 years ago, we can survive too. Let’s hope that it will not happen again. And everything will be fine."
