Uzhgorod citizens could see some work being carried out in the middle of the roadway on Koryatovich square, near the intersection with Luchkay street. Some even thought that they planned to install another advertising design at this place.
We decided to find out what is happening, especially since the director of the MU "KSHEP" Ivan Dovbak was on the site of the work.
– No, it’s not a billboard – he laughed. – Now we are installing a safety island with the division of the traffic lanes. There will be a safe pedestrian crossing here.
So, the measures to change the traffic flows are being taken in the city center. Ivan Dovbak showed the approved map of innovations.
It looks like it will be the first pedestrian crossing of this type in the city. There are similar on Svoboda avenue, but those islands are part of the common dividing lawn that separates the lanes.
