Is it a train station? Is it a currency exchange? No, it’s the Philharmonic in Uzhgorod! (Photofact)

Uzhgorod residents were struck with another questionable innovation in the historic center. This time, the victim is the centennial building of the Philharmonic, which was once a synagogue.

There, right in the center of the facade, a strange display panel has appeared.

So, the innovation is not even questionable – it is unquestionably bad.

Members of the group "Uzhgorod" in facebook make jokes about the "decoration" on the building in the cultural center: they suggest to display on the panel exchange rates, weather forecast, train time-tables and even compare it with the cabaret "Moulin Rouge".

However, there has already been the reaction of the local authorities: the municipal police was there and ordered to dismantle this "marvel" – the Deputy Mayor Istvan Tsap said.

But the question of who had the idea to slap such inappropriate thing on one of the iconic buildings in the city remains open. We suspect that the administration of the Philharmonic was involved, because it would have hardly been possible without their approval. So there are doubts about these people’s fitness to their positions in the cultural sphere…
