Is corruption in Transcarpathia defeated?

During the first half of this year, law enforcement agencies of the region forwarded to the court 33 reports on administrative corruption offenses. This indicator is one of the lowest in the country. The biggest bribe-takers, according to Transcarpathian police, are village heads and deputies of local councils.During the six months, not a single civil servant, employee of district state administrations, courts, tax police and state tax authorities, the state penitentiary service, and customs service has been brought to resposibility. Following the trials, administrative charges were brought against 15 persons, which is one of the lowest figures in the country (990 persons throughout the country).     One in three accused of bribery in Transcarpathia was acquitted by courts. The amount of fines imposed is 9,010 UAH.

1 person was brought to administrative liability for committing corruption offense in the healthcare system, 1 – in the field of land relations, 3 – in the public sector, and 2 – in the environmental field.

5 protests against unlawful judicial decisions have been made (in Ukraine – 70), 1 of which was upheld.
6 people have been dismissed from their positions due to the prosecution for corruption offenses (in Ukraine – 224). Courts closed one in three administrative cases under consideration (in the country – one in eleven), including for grounds of rehabilitation.
