Information for Transcarpathians: salaries in the EU countries

Eurostat published current figures of labor costs in the European Union for 2016, the Myhungary.net informs. The range of the average cost of one work hour ranges from 4,40 EUR to 42,00 EUR.

The study did not take into account the wages of citizens employed in agriculture and the civil service. The lowest cost of one work hour is in Bulgaria and Romania – 4,40 EUR. And the highest wages are in Denmark and in Belgium. The average cost of one work hour in the EU amounts to 25,40 EUR. In particular, in the industrial sector – 26.60 EUR, and in the service sector – 25,80 EUR per hour. In the EU countries, where euro is the main currency, the average wage is 29.80 EUR per hour.

In particular, in the industry – 32.60 EUR per hour, in the service sector – 28,70 EUR per hour. In the EU countries, that have kept their national currency, the average cost of one work hour in the industry is: Bulgaria – 4,40 EUR; Lithuania – 7,30 EUR, Latvia, Hungary and Poland – 8,30 EUR. In the service sector: Bulgaria – 5,50 EUR; Lithuania – 7,50 EUR, Latvia, Hungary and Poland – 8,60 EUR. The highest hourly wage is in Denmark – 42,00 EUR and 39,20 EUR, Belgium, Sweden – 38,00 EUR and 36,60 EUR, Luxembourg, France – 35.60 EUR.

  The minimum wage as of the beginning of 2017 increased in all EU countries except Lithuania. The highest minimum wage is in Ireland – 1563,25 EUR, Netherlands – 1551,60 EUR, Belgium – 1531,93 EUR. The lowest minimum wage is in Bulgaria – 235,60 EUR, Romania – 275,39 EUR, Lithuania, Latvia – 380,00 EUR. In the countries of the Visegrad four, the minimum wage ranges from 407,09 EUR in the Czech Republic to 453,48 EUR in Poland. In Hungary, it is 411,52 EUR, in Slovakia – 435,00 EUR.
