In Vynogradiv, a female border guard caused an accident

Yesterday, at 11:20, in Vynogradiv, an accident occurred at a railway crossing on Leyzman street.

A 26-year-old Border Service inspector of the 3rd category, who works at the checkpoint "Vylok", a resident of the village of Osiy in Irshava district, driving a car "Skoda Octavia," at a railway crossing, lost control and collided with a car "VAZ-2106", which was moving ahead driven by a 20-year-old resident of the village of Drotyntsi, Vynogradiv district.

As a result of the accident, a passenger of VAZ-2106, a 61-year-old pensioner died from injuries. Also, the driver of the car, diagnosed with a closed fracture of the left humerus, was delivered to Vynogradiv District Hospital and hospitalized in the casualty department. Another passenger of the car, a 51-year-old female resident of the village of Drotyntsi, diagnosed with bruised chest, was hospitalized in the casualty department, and the third passenger – a 31-year-old man was hospitalized in the intensive care unit. Drivers’ blood samples were taken to determine the presence of alcohol. The cars were delivered to the impound lot of Vynogradiv District Police.

People who witnessed the accident reported that after the crash, the border guard changed from her uniform into civilian clothes. It is possible that before the accident she had been drinking, our sources in law enforcement reported.

Transcarpathian prosecution for supervision over the observance of laws in the military sphere opened a criminal proceeding over this fact. The incident was registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations on the grounds of a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 286 Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety that caused victim’s death).
