During a search in the house of a resident of the village of Zabrid in Velyky Berezny district, police officers found and seized 167 rounds for rifles of different caliber. A criminal proceeding over illegal storage of ammunition was initiated.
Officers of Velyky Berezny district police received the information that a resident of the village of Zabrid may be illegally storing ammunition. The police came to the man’s place of residence to conduct a search authorized by a court. Since the 48-year-old owner was not at home at that time, the investigators searched the house in the presence of the village head.
In the corridor and in the rooms, they found and seized 167 round for rifles of various calibers. The seized rounds were sent for examination.
Criminal proceeding over this incident was initiated under Part 1 of Art.263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons and ammunition). The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of 2 to 5 years.
Law enforcers are taking appropriate measures to find the person involved in the case.
