In Uzhgorod, they learned advocacy in practice (PHOTOS)

On September 17-19, 2013, there was the training for representatives of non-governmental organizations in Ukraine "Lessons in Advocacy." The training was organized by the RMEO "Ecosphere" sponsored by the International Renaissance Foundation.

The participants of the training were 12 NGOs from Lviv, Kyiv, Kherson, Kirovograd, Vinnytsya, Horlivka, Voznesensk. The training was part of the project "Program for sharing of the best practices in advocacy between CSOs of Ukraine "Lessons in Advocacy" which is aimed at sharing the experience of practical advocacy among representatives of NGOs in Ukraine and strengthening the institutional capacity of Ukrainian NGOs in representing and protecting the rights of citizens.

Training was conducted by trainers of the RMEO "Ecosphere".   

Within three days of work, they conducted theoretical and practical training in planning and implementation of advocacy campaigns and technology of media campaigns. Theoretical presentation and practical exercises, presented in the materials on "Advocacy as a tool of influence," allowed participants to plan their advocacy campaign aimed at solving a particular problem.

Invited experts in the field of advocacy also shared stories of successful advocacy campaigns conducted by their organizations. During the training, the participants had the opportunity to share experiences and receive answers to their questions.
