In Uzhgorod, there was a fire in a hotel (PHOTOS)

Today, February 14:45, Uzhgorod rescuers received a report that on Sobranetska street in the regional center, a fire had started in a hotel. The fire started in one of the rooms on the second floor of the hotel.

To eliminate the fire, crews of the 14th and 15th State Fire and Rescue units were sent at the scene. In total, 20 personnel members, 3 units of the main equipment, 2 units of the special equipment and 1 unit of the auxiliary equipment were engaged in fire extinguishing.

Upon arrival of the firefighters, the hotel was filled with thick smoke. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatuses immediately began inspection and extinguishing of the fire. During the elimination of fire, rescuers and employees of the hotel evacuated 42 guests from the rooms and rescued a man, who was in the room next to the fire hearth. Due to the thick smoke in the corridor, he could not get out of there on his own.

Thanks to timely measures taken, they managed to prevent the spread of the fire and save the building from possible destruction.

At 15:10, the fire was contained, and at 15:18, it was eliminated.

The cause of the fire and the total amount of damage are being established by experts. Nobody was injured and killed in the fire.
