Yesterday, June 13, two persons, one being an active and the other one a former officer of the Uzhgorod police department, were notified of being suspected of committing a criminal offense. This was reported by the Communication Department of the Transcarpathian Regional Police.
Despite the fact that a 31-year-old operative resigned in January this year, the police, together with the prosecutor’s office, found out that he had received undue benefit in September 2017. In addition, it was established that a 29-year-old officer of the Uzhgorod police department could be involved in this illegal activity. Both have already been notified of being suspected of committing a criminal offense, stipulated in Part 3 of Art. 368 of the CCU, that is, acceptance of a proposal, a promise or reception of an unlawful benefit by an official.
The policemen received the illegal benefit from a foreigner, who was suspected of a theft in the territory of the region.
Recall that in Uzhgorod, the head of an office of the Uzhgorod City Council was caught on the bribe of $ 800.
