The head of the State Transport Safety Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region Serhiy Slobodyanyuk posted on his Facebook page the information about the inspection of the parking lot near the Regional Hospital in Uzhgorod, which became a stop for illegal minibuses. All carriers had certificates and licenses, but in reality they carried out passenger transportation on regular routes, disguising their activity as transportation on irregular routes or transportation for their own needs.
Due the detected violations, administrative and economic penalties will be imposed on the carriers in accordance with Article 60 of the Law of Ukraine "On Automobile Transport".
I also want to announce that in addition to heavy fines, Transcarpathian illegal carriers face another "bonus": towing truck and "rest" at the impound lot.
But there is one mitigating circumstance in favor of individual carriers (which, unfortunately, does not affect the amount of the fine): they brought people from villages and towns of Tyachiv district, that have no official bus route network… and people have no other choice, except for using the services of illegal carriers. Therefore, it is necessary to solve this problem and arrange for legal buses."
