On March 27, at 08:55, the Rescue Service of Transcarpathia was reported about a fire in a building located in the village of Syurte in Uzhgorod district. Neighbors noticed the fire in one of the rooms of the building where a 55-year-old man lived alone.
To eliminate the fire, two crews of firefighters – from the 14th State Fire and Rescue Unit of Uzhgorod and the 7th State Fire and Rescue Unit of Chop – were sent at the scene. In total, two pieces of equipment and 8 personnel members were engaged in elimination of the fire. At 09:24, they managed to stop the spread of the fire and at 9:40 completely eliminated it. At the site of the fire, rescuers found the body of the 55-year-old owner of the house.
The police are now establishing the damage caused by the fire and the cause of the fire.
