In Uzhgorod district, another person was killed by a car

In the village of Chervone in Uzhgorod district, there was an accident, which resulted in the death of a 61-year-old local resident.

According to investigators, a 36-year-old driver of a Volkswagen Passat, heading towards Chop, hit a 61-year-old resident of Chervone, who was standing on her knees in the middle of the carriageway.

The driver explains that he was blinded by the light of an oncoming cars’ headlights, that is why he did not notice the woman. The victim died on the spot.

Law enforcement officers opened a criminal proceeding over the incident under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is, violation of traffic rules that caused the death of the victim. The investigation is ongoing, – the police reported.
