In Uzhgorod district, a robber from the Crimea was detained

Two intruders broke into the home of a 45-year-old inhabitant of the village of Mynai in Uzhgorod district, inflicted him many injuries for an alleged debt. Then, the assailants took from the victim’s home a television set and disappeared.
 
Yesterday, a doctor reported to Uzhgorod district police station that an ambulance had delivered to the emergency department an inhabitant of the village of Mynai diagnosed with closed head injury, brain concussion and incised wound of the neck. Law enforcement officers went to the hospital to interview the man and to establish all the circumstances of his injuring.
 
According to the victim, in the evening two unidentified men broke into his home and demanded to repay the debt, then inflicted him numerous punches to the head area, and one of them seized a kitchen knife and stabbed him to the neck area. Then, the robbers stole a TV set from the house and disappeared in an unknown direction.
 
Officers of the Criminal Investigation Sector of Uzhgorod district police immediately began the search for the attackers, and within hours identified them. Today, the police have arrested one of the attackers – a 25-year-old native of Crimea, previously convicted for car theft. Currently, the police are taking all necessary measures to arrest his accomplice.
 
The Investigation Department of Uzhgorod district police initiated criminal proceedings over this fact under Part 3 of Art.187 (robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The preliminary inquiry is ongoing.
