On May 7, at 15:59, the Rescue Service received a report of a fire in a two-storey building, that accommodates a building materials store, a grocery store and a bar, at Narodna street, the village of Hanychi, Tyachiv district.
Crews of the 8th State Fire and Rescue Unit of the city of Tyachiv, State Fire and Rescue Post of the village of Dubove and firefighters of local fire brigades from the villages of Neresnytsia and Teresva were immediately sent at the scene.
Upon the arrival of the fire and rescue units, the fire had engulfed the whole roof of the building. So, rescuers had to act very quickly in order not to let the fire destroy the whole building. Besides, a large amount of combustible materials, that were kept inside, contributed to the spread of fire. The fire and rescue units contained the fire at 17:40, and completely eliminated it at 20:19. In total, 5 vehicles and 23 rescue workers were engaged in firefighting.
The fire destroyed the roof and the second floor of the building with the total area of 2000 square meters.
Nobody died or was injured during the fire.
Losses and the cause of the fire are to be determined.
