An attempt of smuggling of component parts used in military aircrafts was prevented in Transcarpathia by officer of the Security Service of Ukraine in cooperation with customs officers and border guards.
At the customs post "Tisa", law enforcement officers detained a citizen who had hidden parts, particularly a gas turbine engine, blade protection system, radio command system and other components, in the plating of his car trunk.The man said that he had bought those parts for resale.
These components belong to the category of the goods subject to state expert supervision. The citizen had no permits for their import. The criminal proceeding under Part 1 of Art. 333 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was initiated.
Urgent operational-investigative measures are being taken.
