The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the military prosecutors, arrested the head of one of the departments of the Mukachevo border guard detachment for bribery.
The captain demanded from a local resident more than 20 thousand hryvnia bribe for facilitating the illegal movement of a large batch of electronic watches across the state border of Ukraine.
The extortionist was detained while receiving a part of the undue advantage.
The preliminary investigation under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was opened. The border guard was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Urgent operational-investigative measures are being taken.
