In Transcarpathia, the court reversed the decision on the Muzhiyevo gold mine

The Supreme Economic Court upheld the prosecutor’s claim to repeal previous judicial decisions, whereby the mineral reserves of the Muzhiyevo gold mine had been granted for free.

The Prosecutors of Transcarpathian region filed to the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine a cassation appeal in the interest of the state represented by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources of Ukraine, the Ministry of Industrial Policy of Ukraine represented by the "State Joint-Stock Company of Ukraine "Ukrainian Polymetals" JSC.

This refers to the decision of the Economic Court of Transcarpathian region of September 17, 2013, whereby part of the minerals of the Muzhiyevo deposit containing precious metals (including gold) was granted to the "Carpathian Mining Company" limited liability company in violation of the statutory procedure .

The Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine agreed with the position of prosecutors of Transcarpathian region and upheld the cassation appeal, thereby reversing the illegal decision of the Economic Court of Transcarpathian region and the resolution of Lviv Economic Court of Appeal, and the case was returned to the trial court for review.

Under the said unlawful and now cancelled decisions of courts, the "Zakarpatpolimetaly" LLC was obliged to transfer Muzhiyevo deposits to the "Carpathian Mining Company" LLC.

Thanks to these measures, the regional prosecutor’s office prevented the use of the minerals of Muzhiyevo gold mine and the property of the company, founded by the Ministry of Industrial Policy of Ukraine, that was illegally transferred to a private institution free of charge.
