The training of territorial defense units, which will take place during 10 days from September 23 to October 2, was discussed yesterday at a briefing in Uzhgorod city council.
It was noted that this would be the training of reservists and conscripts. The fact of participation in it does not mean that a person will be sent to the east of Ukraine – it is possible only in the event of martial law.
Similar exercises have already been conducted before, but this year’s one is bigger and will take place, in addition to Uzhgorod district, in Khust, Vynogradiv and Mukachevo districts. The experts from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Border Guard Service, etc. will be involved in the training.
The Military Commissioner of the Uzhgorod City Military Commissariat Igor Tyshchuk said that persons aged 18 and 60, who have served and who have not served but are fit for service, will take part in training. They will also take recruits (18-27 years old) subject to the signing of a 3-year contract and reservists of the operational reserve.
