In Transcarpathia, Hungarian schools are fully provided with textbooks in Ukrainian

Transcarpathian national minority schools with Hungarian language of instruction are currently fully provided with textbooks, dictionaries and teaching materials in Ukrainian  
This was reported by the Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hanna Sopkova, according to the "Ukrinform".  
"Currently, all Transcarpathian schools with Hungarian language of instruction have been provided in full with the necessary textbooks, dictionaries and teaching materials in Ukrainian language. Ukrainian language classrooms were equipped in schools at the expense of the government. These measures are aimed at fulfilling the requirements of the Law "On Education", which provides for a gradual increase in the hours for Ukrainian lessons in the schools of national minorities," – Sopkova said. 
According to Elvira Lesyshyn, the Chief Specialist of the Education Department of Beregovo District State Administration, Beregovo district, in particular, received UAH 1.5 million for the arrangement of 11 Ukrainian language classrooms in Hungarian-language schools. 
"Currently, the hours for Ukrainian lessons in the district have been increased in 5-6 grades to 5 hours per week, in 7 grades – to 4.5 hours, in 8 and 9 grades – to 4 hours per week," – Lesyshyn said. 
She confirmed that in Beregovo district, which is densely populated by Hungarians, all schools are provided with textbooks at 100%.
