In Transcarpathia, counterfeit cigarettes were removed from illicit circulation

Employees of the tax police in Transcarpathia removed from illicit circulation a large batch of cigarettes labeled with counterfeit excise stamps.

In the framework of the operations "Excise – 2019", "Border" and the investigation of a criminal proceeding under Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, they identified three persons who were engaged in illegal storage of counterfeit tobacco products of unknown origin in their own homes for the purpose of sale.

Following the authorized searches at the mentioned households, 55 thousand 60 packs of tobacco products with counterfeit excise stamps with a total estimated value of 2.2 million UAH were seized from illicit circulation and put in storage.
