At night, at the border crossing point "Uzhgorod", border guards of the Chop detachment prevented another attempt to smuggle a large batch of tobacco products.
During the inspection of a truck MAN en route from Russia to the Czech Republic, the border guards found among the cargo of saw timber a large batch of cigarettes with Belarusian excise stamps.
The tobacco products were hidden from border and customs control in pine boards.
The vehicle with Slovak registration was not let across the border. At present, measures are being taken to unload and count the hidden smuggled goods. The value of the seized cigarettes is being established.
