In Transcarpathia, border guards detained a passenger car with a forged body number

Illegal import of a vehicle into Ukraine was prevented by servicemen of the Chop detachment. When checking a car Skoda Octavia with Czech registration, which arrived last night at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod", border guards suspected possible forgery of its VIN code. So, the border guards decided to inspect the car in depth and with the involvement of experts. The identification number plate turned out to be welded onto the body of the car. 

Therefore, a notication on the detection of signs of a criminal offense stipulated in Art. 290 of the CCU "Destruction, falsification or replacement of vehicle unit numbers" was sent to the investigating department of the Uzhgorod City Police. The vehicle escorted by the operational group was sent from the border crossing point to the Uzhgorod Police Department.
