In Transcarpathia, another man was sentenced for evasion from mobilization

Recently, Beregovo District Court sentenced a local resident to two years in prison for evasion from mobilization.

According to Beregovo interdistrict prosecutor Vladislav Bratyuk, it was proved that the man, being subject to military service, in February this year had received a call with explanations and a request to report to the local military commissariat, but had not reported at the specified time and place. The convict did not explain the reason of his failure to report.

Thus, on April 27, the latter was found guilty of committing a criminal offense and sentenced to two years inprisonment, as the sanction of Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – evasion from mobilization – provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for two to five years. However, on the basis of Art.75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine he was exempted from serving a sentence with the probation for 1 year – the prosecutor said.

Currently, in Transcarpathia, 16 criminal proceedings over evasion from mobilization are being investigated. 13 indictments acts have already been sent to court to take decisions on the merits, 13 offenders have already been convicted.
