In Transcarpathia, a woman was concealing death of her child for 10 years

To receive social benefits.

Back in early 2004, a 35-year-old resident of Transcarpathia gave birth to a boy. After a while the boy died. But the single mother decided not to inform the public service, and take advantage of the childbirth to receive social benefits. Thus, for nearly ten years, she was receiving two types of financial assistance. In total, the amount reached 27,761 hryvnia.

The police filed charges under Part 1 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud).
