In Transcarpathia, a tax officer was arrested due to bribery

The prosecutor’s office detained a deputy officer of tax duties repayment sector of Svalyava RSTI upon receipt of 5 thousand hryvnias of undue advantage

Yesterday, February 2, in Svalyava, an investigating prosecutor of Transcarpathian region, together with SSU staff arrested deputy officer of tax duties repayment sector of Svalyava RSTI.

 
The employee is suspected of obtaining undue advantage of 5 thousand hryvnias. from a Transcarpathian for assistance in resolving issues related to the sales of excisable products.Prosecutor’s office initiated criminal proceedings under Part. 3. ofArt. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – obtaining undue advantage by an official related to extortion. 

Relevant article provides for punishment by imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage into certain activities for up to three years with confiscation of property and with a special forfeiture.
