In Transcarpathia, 52% of gas debtors do not apply for state aid

As of November 1 this year, the total debts of Transcarpathians for gas supply have reached UAH 226.6 million. Of that, 94.2 million hryvnia accounts for the debts of customers who have accumulated significant debt, but have not yet applied for state aid – subsidies.

As of the beginning of November, in Transcarpathian region, there are nearly 32.6 thousand families with debts for gas, but they still have not applied for state aid. Some of them are not eligible for subsidies because they have stable income and can pay for utilities. But, among them, there are those who are really in difficult financial circumstances and still have not applied for subsidies.

"We appeal to customers with the request not to accumulate debts, and apply for subsidies to the departments of Social Protection at the place of residence. All customers, even those who already have debts, are eligible for state aid. In addition, our Contact Center operators are ready to give advice on subsidies every day from 8.00 to 20.00 – call (0312) 42-47-04" – the director of the "Zakarpathaz Zbut" LLC Victoria Tomynets says.

In order to receive subsidies, citizens should contact the social protection department at the place of residence, write an application and submit a declaration of income. Families are eligible for state aid, if their utility costs exceed 15% of the average monthly income.
