In Transcarpathia, 36 families of the killed ATO participants have had their living conditions improved

Last year, appartments were bought for thirty-three families of fallen ATO participants and I-II group disabled. For these purposes, more than UAH 18 million was allocated from the state budget. One family of the deceased soldier was provided with housing at the expense of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, two families took advantage of the right to privatize apartments owned by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. This was reported by the Head of the division for protection from the consequences of the Chornobyl disaster of the Social Welfare Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Natalia Omelyanyuk, summing up the social security measures of the antiterrorist operation participants.

In total, according to the military units, as of the beginning of the year, over four thousand Transcarpathians are participants of the antiterrorist operation, more than 500 of them were injured, 74 were killed, 54 became disable. 2616 ATO participants have the status of combatants, they are registered for appropriate benefits and compensation in accordance with applicable law.

According to Natalia Omelyanyuk, some local governments set additional benefits for families of the killed ATO participants. Thus, under the decision of Mukachevo City Council, the families of victims receive benefits for housing and communal services. Uzhgorod city council decided to pay the expenses of victims’ families for gravestones. In addition, there are benefits for payments for education and meals for children of ATO participants.
