The NGO "Order of Maria Theresa", PADIYUN and Uzhgorod Children’s Art School organized a large-scale children’s plein air dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Empress Maria Theresa of Habsburg-Lorraine. The event was held in Uzhgorod in the private park founded by the Panov family.

The unique feature of the event is that it was attended by about 120 young artists, the youngest of whom was only 4 years old.

The plein air initiators set several goals for themselves: to demonstrate that residents of Uzhgorod and Transcarpathia revere historical values and respect those who laid the foundation of our city and region; to develop Maria Theresa park, which has already become a significant location for townspeople and tourists, in particular, as a venue of cultural events; to demonstrate that Transcarpathia has got many talents, and the traditionally strong Transcarpathian art school has a decent following among the new generation.

The park founder Alen Panov read out a congratulatory letter from her descendants – Archduke and Crown Prince Sandor and Hertha-Margaret of Habsburg-Lorraine.

At the end of the event, the participants were awarded diplomas and "caramel medals" in honor of the 300th anniversary of the Empress.

The works of the young artists will be presented at a special exhibition in the PADIYUN.
