In the context of the Transcarpathian tragedy. How many drivers in Ukraine drive while being drunk?

The National Police of Ukraine issued terrible statistics.

Yesterday, July 16, 2018, 526 reports for driving under the influence were drawn up.

It seems that the preventive measures allegedly taken by the police have no effect. Perhaps the drivers will sober up after tragic cases and punishment for driving while being drunk?

Here it is worth mentioning the accident caused by the head of the Perechyn District State Administration Viktor Olefir on July 14.

The official (now former), driving a car while being drunk, killed two women who were walking on the sidewalk of the Transcarpathian town of Perechyn in the evening.

The National Police of Ukraine emphasizes:

"We remind you that driving a vehicle in a state of alcohol intoxication is prohibited by the legislation of Ukraine!

It is punishable by a fine in the amount of 600 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens with the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for one year".

For Olefir, the bad idea to get behind the wheel in this state resulted in the death of two women, a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention for two months and a prospect of imprisonment for up to 10 years."
