On October 19, the Svalyava Police Department received a report about a road accident in the village of Solochyn near the sanatorium. A female pedestrian died at the scene of the accident, and the driver of the car fled from the scene. The police initiated the "Interception" plan.
As a result of the search activities, the car involved in the accident and the driver were found by the police. As the investigators found out, the car was driven by a 37-year-old resident of Svalyava district. After committing the accident, he drove the car to the regional center and tried to hide the consequences of the accident, replacing the damaged parts of the minibus. However, later he confessed to committing the accident.
The investigator of the Investigation Department opened a criminal proceeding over the accident under Part 2 of Art.286 (Violation of traffic rules, which caused the death of the victim). The pre-trial investigation in the case continues.
