A company of youths, including minors, robbed a passerby on the street. The group of robbers were detained by the police; pretrial investigation into the incident is being conducted.
Officers of Rakhiv Criminal Police caught a group of local robbers. The youngest of its four members is under 15, the oldest one is 19 years old. Two guys from the company, 19 and 18 years old, had been previously convicted.
Police officers found out that this group of young men in an unfrequented spot robbed a drunken man who was standing near them and drinking beer. The criminals attacked the man, beat him and took 150 UAH and a mobile phone "NTC".
The 31-year-old victim at first did not appeal to the police, and decided to find his abusers himself. When he found out the name of one of the attackers, he reported the robbery to the criminal police. Soon, operatives detained the entire criminal group.
Investigators started criminal proceeding over this incident under Part 2 of Art.186 Criminal Code of Ukraine (robbery, committed under prior agreement by a group of persons). The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years.
Four people are involved in this proceeding, including two minors. Because of that, the 19-year-old detainee also faces punishment for the involvement of minors in criminal activities (Art.304 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
During the preliminary investigation, possible involvement of the group in other crimes in the city will also be checked.
