In Rakhiv district, a traveler found a unique hut (PHOTOS)

At an altitude of 1600 m in the Ukrainian Carpathians, a traveler found a unique shepherd’s hut. Its main feature is in the design: the hut has 8 corners.
Traveler Roman Dobko found it in the Svydovets massif in Rakhiv district of Transcarpathian region. Today such huts can be found only in books on the ethnography of the Hutsul region.
In his opinion, despite seemingly abandoned appearance, the hut is used in summer.
Kolyba is a shepherd’s hut on a meadow, which serves as a shelter in the summer. Such a building has no windows or floor, and in the center, there is a fireplace with a hole in the roof to let the smoke out. The most common huts are ordinary rectangular. Hexagonal and, as in this case, octagonal are less common.
