A 43-year-old previously convicted resident of Kirovohrad region broke into the house of an 81-year-old resident of Mukachevo, beat her and took her money and jewelry. The attacker was arrested, he faces up to 12 years in prison.
As law enforcement officers have found out, the attacker entered the building through unlocked door.He beat the 81-year-old owner of the house, tied her hands with stockings and put a gag in her mouth. Then the attacker took gold jewelry and 300 hryvnia from the house and fled.
The victim was hospitalized with a closed head injury, concussion and a broken jaw.
Soon the police found and arrested the attacker. It was a 43-year-old resident of Kirovohrad region. The man already has been convicted for the same offense, and came out of prison last year.
Criminal proceeding over this incident has been opened under Part 3 of Art.187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (robbery). The offender faces imprisonment for a term of 7 to 12 years – the Department of Communication of the National Police Office in Transcarpathian region informed.
