The information about a neglected state of the unique cold geyser in the village of Vuchkove in Mizhhirya district was posted on Facebook. Oleksandr Nikitčuk indignantly describes this sad situation and adds photos.
"In a small village of Vuchkove in Mizhhirya district, there is a unique natural monument – a cold mineral geyser, which spurts 4-6 meters high every two hours.
There is a similar cold mineral geyser in Slovak Herlany, in 2002 it was listed as a World Heritage site and natural attraction of Slovakia. In many guides it is described as the only and unique cold geyser in Europe.
Few Transcarpathians know about our geyser in Vuchkove, and perhaps, it is good for the geyser and the nature around, because all that our people (although they can hardly be called people) can do to unique natural attractions is to spoil them quickly and well. I did not want to photograph what was around the geyser, but I’m still in shock: piles of glass and plastic bottles, three or four newly built alcoves etc. A sad and disappointing picture."
