Yesterday, the head of the Siltse branch of the political party "Batkivshchyna" reported to Irshava district prosecutor’s office that a group of unknown persons had damaged the monument to Zoya Kosmodemyanska, which is located in the village of Siltse on Vynogradna street.
The investigative team of Irshava district police, that arrived at the scene, found out that around 13.00,
a group of 10 unknown persons, who identified themselves as members of the "Svoboda" party, had come up to the monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union Zoya Kosmodemyanska.
They told the villagers that they had the decision of Irshava District Council on dismantling monuments to the heroes of the Soviet Union in the district, and that monuments to heroes of Ukraine would be set instead of them.
Then they removed the monument, which is made of cement and gravel, and took in an unknown direction.
