On Saturday, August 20, the assembling of the monument to Taras Shevchenko began in the park near the school №5 in Beregovo, the Zakarpattya online informed.
The works were attended by the author of the bronze sculpture, known Transcarpathian artist Vasyl Olashyn and one of the masterminds of this long-term project, a local entrepreneur and co-founder of the Charitable Foundation "Kobzar" Volodymyr Marhitych.
After a long delay in funding, the situation was finally resolved positively with the help of sponsors from Hungary.
The inauguration of the monument will take place on August 24 at 10.00.
