There is no official information yet, but Hungarian media report about mass arrests of Hungarian border guards on Tuesday – the Mukachevo.net informs.
It is only known that several dozens Hungarian border guards were detained. Moreover, members of the anti-terrorist unit TEK took part in the arrest.
Border guards suspected of corruption were detained at home. According to unconfirmed information, they were extorting bribes from drivers for speedy crossing of the border with Ukraine. The amounts of bribes ranged from 5 to 50 euros. But it is possible that they were taking much larger amounts for facilitating the transportation of large shipments of contraband.
