Today, Christians celebrate Epiphany.

This day concludes the winter holiday cycle. According to folk traditions, the water sanctified on Epiphany has cleaning and healing properties, and this day is one of the most special holidays in the Christian calendar.

In Uzhgorod, the water was blessed by representatives of different Christian denominations.

Orthodoxes held the ritual on the banks of the Uzh. There, Uzhgorod residents plunged into the river. And Greek Catholics held the blessing of water near the Cathedral.
