Heroes do not die: the memorial to the Heaven’s Hundred and the Heaven’s Guard opened in Transcarpathia (PHOTOS)

On the Day of remembrance and reconciliation, in the village of Korolevo in Vynogradiv district, there was the inauguration and consecration of the memorial to the Heroes of the Heaven’s Hundred and all those who have lost their lives for Ukraine in the armed conflict that continues.

It is symbolic that the monument is located in the central park of the village next to the memorial to those who died in World War II and whom we honor today.

On this occasion, residents of the region gathered for a rally-requiem under blue and yellow flags. People were remembering the feat of the courageous nation in the struggle on the Maidan. And also honored the living and, unfortunately, fallen defenders of freedom and integrity of the state – combatants in Eastern Ukraine.

The event was attended by the deputy of Ukraine Ivan Baloha, who supported the establishment of the memorial, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Vasyl Hubal, the deputy chairman of the regional council Mykhailo Popovich, the chairman of Vynogradiv district council Oleg Lyubimov, representatives of local authorities and community activists, and participants of the ATO.

After paying tribute to the fallen heroes with a moment of silence, a prayer and words of respect, as well as poems and songs, all those present agreed on the following: Ukraine deserves peace and a better life, and its heroes will have eternal honor. For as long as they are remembered, heroes do not die!
