Having found a grenade, a resident of Mukachevo… threw it in the trash

In Mukachevo, a local resident found a grenade and threw it in the trash. Cleaners saw that and informed the police, who promptly arrived at the scene with explosive experts.

A 40-year-old resident of the city reported to the police that while cleaning garbage bins in the Palanok neighborhood he noticed that an unidentified man had thrown a grenade in the trash.

Patrol policemen and bomb experts arrived at the scene. In a few minutes, the surrounding area was cordoned off, and access to the scene was blocked. Experts found a grenade RGD-5 without fuse and sent it for analysis.

A few minutes later, the police caught and detained the man who had thrown the grenade in the bin. It was a 27-year-old resident of Mukachevo. The man explained that he had found the grenade in the park and decided to throw it away.

The incident was registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations, the PR department of Transcarpathian regional police reported.
