“Green berets” detained a large family of illegals the border with Slovakia

On the eve of the weekend, while taking measures to combat illegal migration, Chop border guards detained a group of unknown persons attempting to illegally cross the border to Slovakia.

Nine people of Asian appearance were detected and detained by border guards while patrolling the area of the department "Velyky Berezny". Later, while checking the area with a dog, border guard detained two more unknown persons. As explained by one of the detainees, all of them were one family, originally from Afghanistan, but had no documents. The family consisted of five adults and six minors, including three children under the age of 7 years. According to the detainees, they paid an unknown person for their journey to the EU about 20 thousand dollars. The criminals were to receive 30 thousand more after smuggling the family to the Slovak Republic.

After taking the "travelers" to the unit, they were searched, during which "green berets" found several bags containing unknown substances, possibly – drugs. Border guards informed on this fact the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Office that took the found substance for examination.

Currently, operational and verification activities are ongoing. The decision on legal liability and further fate of detainees will be taken in court.
