“Greco-Roman” Mukachevo (PHOTO)

In Mukachevo the 14th international tournament in Greco-Roman wrestling in memory of Mykhailo Tokar has finished. This time boys from 9 countries and unrecognized Transnistrian republic participated in the competition. In total there were 300 athletes.

Over the years the tournament in Mukachevo has become a respectable competition with serious participants. Ukraine is traditionally represented in the tournament by the best wrestlers, so foreign countries also send their strongest representatives to check them against worthy opponents. So the 14th tournament was attended by two current world champions and champions of Europe.

So it is clear that even a struggle for prizes is already a great success. And Transcarpathian team represented by wrestlres from Mukachevo, Tyachiv, Beregovo and Vynogradov did not embarassed themselves at home – some Transcarpathian athletes got to the final competitions, some won the right to wrestle for the third place.

In total there were 15 sets of medals. 10 categories were the so-called Cadet. Another 5 categories were for younger wrestlers who are attracted to the event so that they already became accustomed to large representative tournaments.
